Finally I've taken time to sit down and do a posting.

The view is not all bad from up here. The 'haze' in the picture is how the Smokey's got their name. It looks as if there is a forest fire and the ranger station often gets calls there is one but it isn't. What it is is oxygen from the trees, guess we shouldn't run outta air to breath should we? ;)

We've had some very beautiful sunsets but they are hard to capture with the camera.
As you can see, sometimes the sunsets look much like the pictures you see on TV of forest fires, fortunately they aren't.
Our neighbors returned so I took a couple shots of them. We've seen as high as close to 30 turkeys but hard to get an accurate count. We've also seen a doe and fawn, and another doe and a spike horn buck. I've seen a pair of the pilated woodpeckers that are in the woods. They are BIG, about the size of a crow. When they start hammering on the trees they sound about like a jack hammer going. I hope to someday get a picture of them.
