Pictures of the LOG!

This is a picture of the top end of the log, if you count the rings let us know how many there are please. It is 59' long from end to end. And the butt end of it is at least 32" across as I had about all I could do to cut it off with a 16" blade.

Did I miss something? What is the story with this log?

I'm going to have this log, which is on our property, sawed into lumber. It is a red oak that was blown down some time back. When we were down here last October looking at properties I spotted it then and have had designs for it ever since. On the butt end it is around 32" and the top is 16" at it's widest part. And it's 59' long so there is way more lumber than I'll ever be able to use up. We're thinking about using the top part for the mantel.

Ahhhh- now I understand. I was hoping it didn't fall near the house or something!
